Kin Guides
Kin Guides are a new project born from the desire to celebrate and document Texans’ relationships with the wild species they share the land with. They are a series of ethnographic “field guides” documenting a population’s relationship to the natural world. I am actively seeking stories, memories, or anecdotes of any kind involving wild species within the eleven different ecoregions of Texas as described by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, (map below). There will be one issue per ecoregion, and they will contain entries from locals and visitors who write about their relationships with the landscape and the plant and animal species around them.
